Gritty but fun (part 4)

Well we did it again. We went to the Little Sahara sand dunes and had a camp out. You would think we would learn.

Our favorite spot was reserved by some other stake of troops so we had to go to the white sands area and endure people four wheeling though what I though of as our campsite.

It was sunny and cloudy and warm and cold and calm and windy and rainy and haily but more than that fun and as always GRITTY!

That's spike our scorpion friend. I can't remember which back pack he rode home in though but I'm sure that he will turn up.

Not really a camp out more like a CAMP IN

Hey well we had our first camp out planned for third week in March. That's perfect camping weather right. Spring started 3 days ago and it was in the 70's. Well on Friday morning I didn't feel good about going camping. A few hours later it started snowing. By the afternoon there were a couple of inches on the ground with more in the forecast and I didn't think that we wanted to start our camping season with a cold, wet and miserable night at willow park followed by an afternoon of service for the food bank. We decided to have a camp IN instead of a camp out. We cooked our foil dinners in my back yard and then played basketball in our driveway and then played games and watched a movie until about 10:00. Everyone had a great time. We didn't ruin any tents or gear and no one will be getting the flu for a week and a half. Here are some photomographic highlights:

 Gus burnin' some biscuits
Hayden keeping the leader's chair warm
 Jase's turn to burn
Gus and Jase got the ball rolling with some speed
 Leaders vs. Scouts
It was a pretty close game until Brother Allen put the camera down and joined in.
 Brother Patton was well guarded
But still breaks free
Monopoly, there are few who can still be friends after playing this game.
 But they did it
Some Texas rules version of Monopoly. I think.
Collecting food bags for the food bank in the snow
 Being Happy
About 40 bags were collected and donated to the food bank. What a great day!
