Food Drive
Hey thanks to everyone who helped with the scouting for food drive this week. Saturday we collected a van load of food and took it to the food bank to help the needy. It was cool to see hundreds of people there unloading all the donations. There were two lines of ten cars that they were unloading as fast as they could, filling up huge crates that they were taking away with fork lifts. On April 6th for scouts we will go back to the food bank and help them sort the food and make packages of food for families. Service is good!

Family Life Merit Badge
Troop 782 is working on the Eagle required Family Life Merit Badge. There are an number of things that the boys need to do at home with their families to complete this award. I addition to doing and tracking there house old chores for 90 days the need to lead some family meetings and organize some service projects. Here are the requirement as listed on the BSA merit badge Wiki:

- Plan and carry out a project that involves the participation of your family. After completing the project, discuss the following with your merit badge counselor:
- a. The objective or goal of the project
- b. How individual members of your family participated
- c. The results of the project
- Do the following:
- a. Discuss with your merit badge counselor how to plan and carry out a family meeting.
- b. After this discussion, plan and carry out a family meeting to include the following subjects:
- 1. Avoiding substance abuse
- 2. Understanding the growing-up process and how the body changes, and making responsible decisions dealing with sex
- 3. Personal and family finances

- 5. The effect of technology on your family
- Discussion of each of these subjects will very likely carry over to more than one family meeting.
Camp Allen Back a smashing (and shivering) success
Hey Everyone, We survived our first camp out together. It got really cold that night but no one lost any toes or eyebrows. We learned 14 ways not to put up a Springbar tent and lots of things not to do to start a great marshmallow peep roasting fire. Here are some of the pictures to prove it all. Thanks to everyone who came and made it a fun time.
Frost every where how do we get the this propane thing hooked up to make some heat?
Lito is happy to be on his first scout camp out no matter the local temperatures.
"My biscuits are burnin'!"
Everyone getting warm around the fire.
OK Christevan maybe that was a little too close the fire. Stop, Drop and Roll!
Colton, put that away please.
Mmmmmmm... Fire.
Brock, one of the camp cooks, is ready for a satisfying meal.
Which requirement is this for? I think we better look it up in the handbook!
