The scouts had a great time at their June camp out in Maple Canyon by Fountain Green Utah. We drover up there early to get a good spot but the fact that this is a world renowned rock climbing destination all of the close spots were taken. We kept driving up the rougher and narrower road and found a primitive camp site a mile or so above the forest service sites.
Chris, Wade and Nick up on the ridge above our camp site. It was a about a 15 minute scramble to get up to this ridge. It was pretty windy up here and we saw a bunch of vultures circling above us but none of us died so I guess they were disappointed.
Damon looking over the canyon above our campsite, staying hydrated and raising some sort of alien force shield.
Chris found a little stream and some skunk cabbage, mmmm....
Riparian entertainments.
Some of the crazy slots and cliffs we explored.
Some well equipped climbers practicing on one of the easier routes. One of the harder routes was up the S curve on the right. You can see the quick draws hanging down if you zoom in.
A cave that the boys discovered after scrambling up to a ledge.
Me and Caden coming up the riverbed.
Damon and Nick finding another alcove.
Typical views down box canyon.
Nick coming up one of the chutes between some of the boulders that came down recently and chocked off part of the canyon.
It was a great day for everyone!
